Tarrytown Fred Astaire Dance Studio “Dancespiration” (1/19)

"Dancespiration"

Presented by Tarrytown Fred Astaire Dance Studio
Christmas is over and so is New Years.  There’s nothing much going on…or so you think! Happy January 19th!  It’s time for “Dancespiration”. Each year the students and teachers of the Tarrytown Fred Astaire Dance Studio celebrate the magic of ballroom dance with an extravaganza of foxtrots, salsas, rumbas and show dances. This year’s show - “Dancespiration” - has been created by three award winning choreographers and inspired by the world music legends of many decades and generations - like Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Lady Gaga and many more!!!

So, come along with us on this journey.  It will be a night to remember!

The Hungry Caterpillar & Other Eric Carle Favorites (1/26)

The Hungry Caterpillar & Other Eric Carle Favorites

A Music Hall/Music Without Borders Co-presentation
Mermaid Theater of Nova Scotia
Three beloved stories by Eric Carle, award-winning children’s book illustrator and author, are retold on stage through the magic of black light and fanciful puppets. The Very Hungry Caterpillar follows the wonderful adventures of a very tiny and very hungry caterpillar as he eats his way through an amazing variety of foods on his path to becoming a beautiful butterfly.  High up in the sky, Little Cloud playfully transforms himself  into various creatures, including a sheep, and an airplane, a shark and more. The Mixed-Up Chameleon is bored with his life, sitting about predictably changing colour all day. Following an adventurous trip to the zoo, he attempts to emulate the beautiful animals he sees before coming to the conclusion that there is value in his own unique self.

Vagina Monologues (2/13/19)

Vagina Monologues

Presented by V-Day Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow 2019
20 years since Eve Ensler's play The Vagina Monologues shattered taboos, the stakes could not be higher. The Vagina Monologues is more than a play, it’s a worldwide movement to tell the untold stories of all cis, trans, or fluid women and girls who experience domestic violence. At the local level, we unite to tell those stories with the belief that one day soon, this violence will end.
