An acclaimed singer/songwriter whose literate work flirts with everything from acoustic folk through rockabilly to straight-ahead country, John Prine can easily be compared to great contemporary songwriters like Paul Simon, Loudon Wainwright III, and James Taylor. Discovered by Kris Kristofferson, he released his debut self-titled album in 1971 to reviews proclaiming him "the next Bob Dylan". Since then, John Prine has released more than 20 albums, and received Grammy awards for the 1991 release The Missing Years, and the 2006 Fair and Square.
